WB 4.59 Problem (I think)

Just upgrade to WB 4.59. Now, can't load Desktop X nor even a weather widget. Just get errors stating that DesktopX has encountered a problem and must shut down OR dxwidget.exe has encountered a problem and must shut down. Possible active x contol prob? I need help fixing this....

This sounds like a problem with DesktopX, not WindowBlinds.

Neil, I dunno. Both DesktopX and my widgets were working before I upgraded the WB to 4.59; so, that's all I've got to go by as of now. Didn't have any other problems, except for a Windows error on shutdown after install of 4.59. The error had to do with the windows services (general). A second shutdown and no windows errors; but DesktopX nor widgets working still......

I'm receiving the same error: "dxwidget.exe has encountered a problem and must shut down"

Don't have a clue as to what's causing it.

I'm running WB 4.6 build 214 and all my widgets are working fine. Although I did have trouble after doing the windows service pack 1 update with a few widgets. Not sure if any of its connected. But the cause of one was an active x control . MD sent me the Dll and I had to register it. Not sure why the Dll was even missing. But posting the problem is a start.

Maggot:

What version of DesktopX are you running? Are you able to unload WB and get desktopX to work? I take it that since you haven't made any more posts that your problem is hopefully resolved. If you're still encountering the problem, there is another version out now you might try upgrading to.

What version of DesktopX are you running and how might one reproduce the problem?

Fairyy~:

You should try updating to service pack 2. This patch contains a lot of fixes. (and has cured a lot of headaches!)

Some of the craches I've had with DX was because it used a faulty language file...
