Can Desktopx run without changing the desktop appearence?

Desktopx takes over my desktop and I can't customize it

Can objects be loaded without desktopx being loaded? I have my desktop perfect. I have a news blog as my default back ground. I would like to load Nekoblack and a few other objects but when I do the desktopx takes over the screen and I can no longer see my normal background. This is very frustraing. Any ideas please

From the gallery descriptions:

DesktopX objects can best be described as "super icons". They reside on your desktop like an icon but they can be animated, display information, and be any size you want them to be. They require DesktopX to be running to be used.

Widgets are mini programs that reside on your computer. You only need to have DesktopX installed in order to use them.

Try exporting your objects as widgets.

Is it the desktop wallpaper you are refering to when you say your background disappear? If so, load up DesktopX Builder, if you have it, and open the Settings window, then click on the "Wallpaper" button. That lets you remove the wallpaper DX applies.
