Are you using the free version?

I`m in the same boat as yourself tattoo113,every time i restart xp my theme resets to xp default.I`ve just perchased this release and i`m a bit of a newbe to it all but it shouldn`t reset after every startup.....All other tweeks i`ve done with curserxp, objectdock and desktopx all load sweet, except a calender widget that loads up every reset even though i remove it within desktopx...I`ve had a good look round at other post but as yet have not found any answers, so if anyone can shed some light on things it would be appreciated...Cheers....

If you installed the full version without uninstalling the free version first, this can happen.

Save your downloaded skins to a temporary folder > unload WindowBlinds > deselect any options to run at start-up in widgets and customization programs > return Windows to the default theme > uninstall WindowBlinds > reboot machine > delete the WindowBlinds folder found in "C:\Program Files\Stardock" folder (where "C" is the letter drive) > reinstall WindowBlinds - that should do it.

If all is well, replace the saved skins into "C:\Program Files\Stardock\WindowBlinds" folder.

leeankers123,

With reference to your widget issue, have you tried clearing your cache?

Cache can be found by first opening "My Computer" > go to "Tools > Folder Options > View tab", then selecting "Show hidden files and folders" > click "Apply".

Now go to "C:\Documents and Settings\"user account"\Local Settings\Application Data\Stardock" folder (where "C" is the letter drive, and "user account" is the name on the account when logged in), then delete the "DesktopX" folder found there.

Note - save your DX theme the way you want it first, then clear the cache. Clearing the cache will force DesktopX to start with the default settings, then you can load your saved theme.

I hope this helps in some way.

Thanks Corky_O for your swift reply....I followed your instructions about uninstalling windowsblinds and it seemed to work untill i rebooted a second time,i did the uninstall twice with the same results, so i went over the post in this forum again and found a link to this: https://www.wincustomize.com/Forums.aspx?ForumID=167&AID=75728#581567
I don`t no why i missed it first time round as it was a recent submision but i did. Anyway i tried this way and found it worked. It seems looking to deeply into things can make you miss the simple ways as this link will demonstrate, simple but affective, i don`t know why i didn`t think of it myself ....Anyway thanks for you help,it`s appriciated...By the way your widget idea worked so cheers
