Even Angels Get Replaced

Sometimes you wonder,
what happens to angels,
when they get worn out from the mundane.

Just like all the people,
who get caught up in life,
who age silently, progressively,
and never realize it until it’s too late.

They just sit with their baggage,
on the runaway train we call life,
that is screaming relentlessly down a
one way track.

I guess mortality doesn’t hit you
till you’re thrown off with baggage in hand
so someone else can take your place.

And you walk on towards home,
and pot all your flowers,
and sit at your old desk,
and write poems of being forgotten.

If you clear out your desk and leave today,
Without all the fanfare and goodbyes
will people remember your name a year from now?

Even if it isn’t right.
Even when they were beautiful and are still.
Even when none of them deserves it.
Even though they love and are loved.

Even angels get replaced.

This poem was inspired by Ben Folds’ “Fred Jones Part 2". I think the best thing to say about this is that you don't have to be forgotten and replaced. It's up to you whether you live a life that will always be remembered.

I wish to all of you a life that will never be forgotten.

Peace,

When you and Brandon leave, you'll never be replaced. Trust that. Even if anyone were to replace you guys, they would never find anyone to fit the spots.

I hope that we have been that special to everyone. I hope that we are remembered for who we are and what we did.

Thank you for the comment, it's been a while since you've been on!

Well at least to me you guys have been. I don't know about everyone else.

Yup! No problem. Since this whole password thing it's been hard to get on from home. And at school I'm always working on that dang newsletter. lol. I try to get on every now and then.

Well...if I ate a lot more than I could physically fill both spots. You guys are too unique to forget, though....you two have made an impression on me, hopefully a positive one Don't worry, I'm not one to forget friends....I'll keep in touch with you guys when you're off to *you know where*.

Good luck and have a great time at the place that I'm not allowed to mention for fear of physical abuse by Sarah and Ashley!
