I have to admit that I have never heard of this problem. I use my ObjectDock on a laptop too and I sure had never any problems with it.

I can assure you that this program does not do any harm to your hardware.

Now for those crackling sounds.... Do you use any docklets on your dock, or just plain shortcuts? If you have docklets on your dock try to remove one at a time and see whether it solves the problem. An alternative way would be to load the Default dock and then add your own shortcuts one at at time and see which one causes the problem.

It's the onboard sound chipset (probably Realtek).Other then annoying, it's harmless. If you don't want to hear it, turn your volume down or off.

Try going into the Bios and turning off the System Speaker on the motherboard. Be aware, you will no longer hear system beeps on boot up nor if there's a problem.
