Disappearing OD Docked Tabs

I have OD Plus running along with WindowBlinds and DeskTop X.

The Docked Tab frequently completely disappears - not even behind all the windows.

The only way to get it back is to go to Configure My Docks and uncheck, then recheck the Always On Top setting.

I assume I'm not the only one having this problem.

Drifter WOL,

Does this occur if you unload WindowBlinds and DesktopX, return Windows to the default theme, then run only ObjectDock Plus?

Just trying to narrow it down to an ObjectDock setting or bug issue, or a combination with another program issue.

One thing you might try is saving your dock theme, unloading ObjectDock, and deleting the Object Dock folder found in "C:\Documents and Settings\"user name"\Local Settings\Application Data\Stardock" folder (where "C" is the letter drive, and "user name" is the name on the account when you are logged on).

If you can't see "Local Settings" folder - open "My Computer" and go to "Tools>Folder Options>View tab" and select "Show hidden files and folders", then click "Apply".

Deleting the Object Dock folder listed above clears the cache.

After clearing the cache, you can start ObjectDock again (the default theme will load), then use Dock Configuration dialog to load your saved theme. This may clear up any conflict with other settings that may have occured while setting up your desktop.

Resave the theme to write it to cache and see how it goes.

Will check back later.

I turned off both DeskTopX and WindowBlinds.

I realized that it there might be a connection with the screensaver - and it turns out that seems to be it.

Just using the Windows Blank (or any other screensaver) - moves the Docked Tab behind all the windows.

I don't know yet about the totally disappearing Docked Tab - but there definitely seems to be a problem related to using screen savers.

Thoughts?

The DockTab does not disappear when the LCD panel turns off (I am using a laptop) - but only when the screensaver is invoked.

No it has something to do with Show and Hide options of Windows OS. When you use the "Show Desktop" feature build in with windows (Windows Key + D) the OD also disappears. That is to say, it gets minimized to the Windows Taskbar. A screensaver also uses this option, thus having the same affect.
