Ship pointing wrong way

When moving my survey ship to an anomoly (autopilot) I noticed that the ship was facing the wrong way as it moved toward the anomoly.

Can I get a screenshot if it happens again?

When I zoom out to tatical mode, I noticed the same thing, my ship appeared to face perpendcular to the direction it was going. If I see it again I'll grab a screen cap.

yea, i am getting that too, it seems that they just point in a random direction when they move.

I have noticed it, also. The ship on autopilot has been traveling towards the visible waypoint for two turns:

Tactical Map: Right now we have the icons in a set position.  They don't display the direction the ships are heading, just what type of ship/fleet they are.  We had the little icons rotate at one time, but they became less readable.

Main Map: That's really weird..I've never seen ships face any other direction by forward as they moved.  We'll look into it!

I have also had the enemy ship moved a half square, then 1 1/2, then 1/2 again etc. I will try and get a screenshot if it happens again

Had my flagship on auto last night and its gfx got confused as to rotation at least once.

Sounds like a basic graphics error. Some graphics cards don't support a common feature which allows developers to just use a half set of graphics, and instruct the DD or the card to flip it to yield the other half of facings. Does the ship always face backwards when this happens?

For me, the ship is usually going sideways, not backwards.

That's not a bug, that 's just "fancy space driving".

No, it does not always face backwards. Sometimes it faces sideways and forwards, and sometimes it changes every turn. On the turn before the one pictured above, the ship was facing sideways.

My graphics card: GeForce FX 5600

I will be continually excited about getting the next build of this great game. Thanks guys!

Yup, I got this problem too. The Survey ship nearly always drives sideways. Funnily enough though I've noticed the behaviour very little in ships I have created as opposed to the ones you begin with. Dunno if that's just happenstance or not... A theory I have is that ships that move only one space a turn will often drive sideways, while ships that can move 2 or more spaces seem to come right and animate correctly, they draw smoothly when they move instead of jerking.
