Disciples II & Robin Hood problems

How do I get Disciples II to go past the splash screen?

How do I get Robin Hood not to crash while loading after the movie?

Hi mrtee - what errors are you getting when you try to run the games? I've tested both and they work fine, so something out of the ordinary is going on...

Disciples II, the splash screen appears, click on either game, the screen disappears, cursor shows working in background, the splash screen reappears. The same thing happens when clicking on the .exe in each of the folders as well. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game twice.

Robin Hood, the splash screen appears, the movie plays, it starts to load (bar at bottom of screen) to about 95% approx. and crashes. Just tried to load it now and got a BSOS with the error code STOP: 0x0000008E (0x00000090, 0x0053B246, 0xf1c71714, 0x00000000) and this in event viewer:

I can zip and send the dump file if you like.

On 3-29-05 I restored an image from 1-19-05 with Desciples II on it, the program worked as it is supposed to (at least it opened and started the movie) so I hit exit.

I then updated all of my programs to 3-29-05, now I am back in the same fix. Splash screen opens, click on a game title and it exits back to the same splash screen. What update did it I have no idea right now, I'll need to replace the updated image with the old image and install things 1 at a time and try the game after each update.

I'll try updating the video drivers to see if RH works before i restore again. Right now it's late and I need some sleep.

Hi mrtee,

Are you running WindowBlinds? If so, try adding the various .exe files to your WindowBlinds exclusion list to see if that fixes the problems. We reproduced the bug with Disciples yesterday and WB was the culprit (future versions of WB will automatically exclude those .exe files).

Great, thanks for that!

Yes running the latest WB from SDC. I will not uninstall anything yet then, but I will try a video driver update for RH.

The new video driver now allow the game (RH) to load and run BUT when I press escape to quit the game it crashes with a BSOD.

The new WB (4.51 (build 201)) did not fix the problem with Disciples II.
