How do you unload DesktopX V3?

I've looked through the doc but don't see instructions for doing this. Killing the task in TaskManager is a bit extreme but so far that's the only thing I've found that works.

Right-click the system tray icon > unload DX?

DesktopX 3 seems to be very buggy application yet - Text input problem with silika widgets, when shutting windows down without unloading first desktopx crashes and the next start windows blinds is damaged. and so on - would it not be better in such cases to wait a month a release a buggy less application?

There is no option to unload DX when right clicking on the icon in the system tray.

I just tested and was able to unload both DesktopX and DesktopX Builder by right-clicking on the icon in the system tray. What so you see when you right click?

dbaldon,

Does the menu change if you "Load Desktop" first?

I apologize for the limited help, I have rolled back to version 2.39 so the widgets I use work.

I see the same things you see in the same order plus an item at the bottom called "Unload DesktopX".

Let's try something: right click to bring up the menu. Then tap the up arrow once. That should select the first item. Maybe the unload is there but not visible. Are you using version 3.00.041?

I have uninstalled DX so I can't try your suggestion. I'm trying to figure out a way to get 2.4 back. If I can't do that I'll try what you suggested.

I too have no "Unload DesktopX" entry in the icon popup menu.
Again, 'End Process' in Task Manager appears as the only solution, besides reboot.
Any ideas?

I had a copy of desktopx_public.exe (v2.4) on another box so I copied it to this box and reinstalled it. I'm back to being a happy camper. I think I'll wait for DX3 to "mature" a little before I try it again. At a minimum I'll wait until there are "things" developed for DX3 (like the web site) and a Longhorn theme.

I just right clicked anywhere on the desktop and it gives me the menu choice to unload DesktopX..
Hmmmmm, I guess it depends on the desktop you have loaded.
