Illegal Now

Just thought I'd let everyone know that my town has passed a law outlawing skatebaording, biking, and blading on city sidewalks, which happens to be oh by the way every freaking where! The police of this fine town are having a contest to see who can confiscate the most boards in a week, and anyone who is seen on one of these aforementioned items, can and will be arrested and/or detained

SKATEBOARDING IS NOT A CRIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!............... I know how ya feel bro. Sucks.....

While skateboarding is not a crime, it does pose a considerable amount of danger to the pedestrians who are using the sidewalk to walk. That is why they are called sideWALKS.

what is funny is that in, I believe, most states it is a misdeminor (spell?) to ride anything on a pedestian pathway (aka sidewalks... key word 'walk' and 'ped')

Speeding objects with people on the sidewalk usually doesn't work.

I do feel sorry for inner city kids, becuase they REALLY have no where else to go but on the sidewalk.

Nobody uses the sidewalks in my town, that's the funny part.

prob. the reason why noone uses the sidewalks is that theres all these skateboarders and bike riders on them...

Do the pedestrians walk on the road?!

I live in Houston. Because of the distance between things, almost everyone drives, sidewalks go unused.

It wasn't until the community I live in was annexed by Houston that they installed sidewalks. That's after 25 years of not having them. And now . . . they are used by joggers; which can be more unsafe than skateboarders or bikers.

Thankfully, I ride a unicycle; and unless THE MAN lists my mode of transportation explicitally . . . I'm not dismounting.

What about PARKways? you drive on them.

What about DRIVEways? you park in them.

That is why they are called sideWALKS.

In the  'real' world they're called 'footpaths'....

Lets get them evildoers! How dare they try and have fun on a skateboard! In fact I think we should even outlaw walking and sneakers..in fact all types of footwear! It wears down our sidewalks and tramples the grass! Oh the humanity of it all where will it stop! In fact...from now on everyone should stay in there homes. Only government officials should be allowed out and anyone else caught outside should be shot on sight! Thank God that government officials look out for us or we might have a life and have fun!

My mother was knocked down by an idiot skateboarder on a railway station platform...when she was 75....most common result for that is broken hip/pelvis followed by pneumonia followed by death.

Had I been there I would have pushed him under the train.

Seems fair.

The bill's sponsor, Democratic Delegate Algie T. Howell, declined to answer reporters' questions Thursday but issued a statement saying the bill "was in direct response to a number of my constituents who found this to be a very important issue."

He has said the constituents included customers at his barber shop who were offended by exposed underwear.

Here in my city you can't skateboard or bike on the downtown sidewalks. It dosen't matter to me as I ride in street. I have no love for skateboards but I realize they have no where to ride. We do however have a few skateboard parks in the neighboring town.

I guess skateboards are looked down upon around here.

Most people look at skaters as punks and trouble makers.

Rephrased...

It's not that most people think that. It's just the stereotype that they got.

Its illigal in O-Town, but they really dont enforce it, In fact, we had 3 pigs watching our skate session,
(after they arrested one of the guys skating with us) LOL it was pretty funny watching my friend in
the back of the cop car and showing the cops how we shred it! (although I bailed him out too)
