1280X1024

I am curious as to why most of the DesktopX Themes are designed for users whose screen resolution is 1280X1024. About 41% of users use 1024x768 while only 21% use 1280x1024. This translates to about 80% of the users not being able to use these themes unless they switch resolutions just to look at their desktop.

First off there's not a huge amount of people doing DX themes. Those who make the desktops generally do so for themselves and then share their work with you. Some of the developers will port to both desktop sizes. Since the desktop is made to be usable at that resolution I can't see what difference it makes unless you can't display 1280x1024 (like me, widescreen) If asked nicely you may find some helpful in reducing their work for you.

I can display the desktop at 1280x1024 just fine and that part is great and everything is just the right size and I can read everything. The problem that I have is when I move off the desktop to anything else it becomes unreadable at that resolution so I would continually have to switch resolutions to be able to use any themes made at 1280x1024. I just thought it was odd that developers of these themes would not try to create themes for the larger audience rather than a select few but I guess if they are doing this mainly for themselves, it makes sense.
