HELP! Need assistance making IE compatible with WindowBlinds!

Hey guys. I downloaded the shareware version of windowblinds yesterday, and i must say its pretty cool. Works with all my programs, and uses very little resources.

However, i'ved noticed a glitch that happens with Internet explorer. Windowblinds will work with IE, but when i click the "favorites" and "history" tab's they're very slow to work, and they constantly flash. Can somebody help me fix it so it doesn't do it?

When it flashes, it won't display my favorite sites, and only but highlighting the flashing parts can i see the links. The same goes for the history, and they all take really long times to show (ex. i click on it, and a few minutes later they pop up blank, and than a few more seconds later it starts flashing)

I'd really love to use windowblinds, but if it doesn't work i won't use it.

Did you restart your computer after installing WindowBlinds?

Do you have any toolbars installed with IE? WindowBlinds should work very well with IE and in the past problems occured only because of the incompatiblity of some toolbars/plugins with Windowblinds.

Try to disable one toolbar after tbe other to find out which one causes your IE to slow down. If you don't have any toolbars installed, you might have spyware-toolbars there. Download Spybot http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html (free), install it and run it to check your system for spyware.

hmm...i have spybot and i ran it and ad-aware already. I had the yahoo! toolbar installed, but the problem still persists even after i removed it.

The flashing "Favorites", "Search" and "History" now work a little quicker, but the still don't appear until i put my cursor over and highlight the material in there.


ahh....im so frustrated. Why is my windowblinds working for everyone but me?

i also have the same problem here i have reverted bac to windows blinds 4.4 it works fine

I had been using shareware ver 4.4 for a long time. When I installed and ran ver 4.5 my computer has the same problem as yours. The CPU usage goes to 65% and the "search" and "Favorites" left hand window flashes. When those windows are closed, CPU usage goes back to 3%. So far, the only way I have found to fix the problem is to unload windowblinds 4.5. Will let you know if I find a better fix, because I hate the desktop without WB.

What happens when you.... open windowblinds configuration/ select basic settings/ uncheck MENU BACKGROUNDS under skin advanced controls?

Add me to the list of having problems with flashing Favorites when using IE, and also version, 4.5 cut two pixels at the bottom of the text in the toolbars name, in the taskbar.

Wow, I have basically the same problem except not only do I get flashing tabs but also IE looks for server and stops loading completely. Upon disabling Windowblinds, I have normal IE access. I love WB but this problem makes it useless to me.

Well , i rolled back 4.49 and low and behold it worked perfectly so this is definitely an issue with 4.5, there hasnt been much activity on this trhead, does Stardock even check or care this bug exists

Well, I guess its kind of nice to see that I'm not the only one with this problem, but a little disheartening to see that there hasn't been any progress. While its kind of frustrating for the favourites and history, it was really annoying when I tried to download an RSS reader integrated into IE, and that was completely useless.

Let's hope that something happens soon!

Has anyone e-mailed support about this problem.

I just ran a test on my machine which has WB 4.5 full version installed and running neOS WindowBlind.

I have no issue with History, Favorites, or Search panels loaded in IE. Initial loading gets about 12 - 20 percent CPU, then settles down to 1 - 2 percent.

Are you seeing the problem in Windows Explorer as well, or just Internet Explorer?

Perhaps leave a link or the name of the skins you all are talking about and I would be happy to test it on my machine to see if it is a skin issue of some sort.

I've had it on every skin I've been using. For example, right now its on cubism, and its doing it as well. And its just in IE, not in Windows explorer. All the other windows are fine.

Could it be because I'm using the free version? has everyone who is having these problems having them with the free version?

Bueller I have the free version as well. Man, its good to know I'm not the only with probs using WB and IE. Have the same prob with the flashing Favourites, History etc. The page stops loading as soon as I open any of the menu items! Plus I dont have any toolbars, spyware or adware installed! Are we ever going to get a solution for this or what? Where can I get version 4.49 from? Couldnt be bothered waiting for a solution to this!Looks like its gonna be a while...............................!
