System Tray's gone

How to see the system tray and change Icons

Hi,

after installing the Version 1.10.008 OB Plus don't show any system tray icons.
what should I do, to get them back?
Besides I'm not able to change the icons. If I change any Icon, after a restart,
the was the original Icon again. But now there are no Icons. So first I want so
solve the problem, with the missing icons.

Additional Info: My desktop X doesn't work too. It crashes during the loading/starting
process.
I uninstalled and installed both softwares two times. And there is no IconX running.

I deleted all setting related to stardock and created them new. Nothing helped.

Thx
Carsten

The system tray should be back at the next reboot. Try and save all your settings by saving it as a theme ('configure Dock' > 'save theme as..'). Usually that does the trick for 'lost' icons.

belief me, I've rebooted my computer for many times. But unfortunately there's no system tray.

Now I tested your second tip and save all my settings. But this does not work too.

An other Idea?

Help needed!

I don't know if it's related but the recent alpha of DX2 seems to causing a lot of problems for people. You may want to uninstall it and reinstall the released version 2.40.035 You'll have to uncheck "Show Pre-Release Versions" in SDC in order to see the official version.

That's what I did a few minutes ago, but the 2.40.035 does not work too.
And the system tray is missing too...

Did you try deleting that dock from your list and making a completely new dock with just the systray and no other entrys?
Something like the bottom right standard dock on this screenshot

I don't know if this will help, but right click where the task bar is suppose to be and go to settings and then taskbar. uncheck the auto hide taskbar. See if that helps.

The program your talking about is Rainmeter. It's a skinnable app like Sysmetrix. I use it because it seems to use less resources than sysmetrix. It's available at the same site as is Rainlender (A calendar app with a section here on Wincustomize) If you go to Link you can download the program. I believe i got this particular skin from Skinbase.org it's called SystemESP Sorry we couldn't help on the System Tray

Hi Lantec,

thx for the link! But a the moment I can't install it.
My Desktop X crashes during loading. It's impossible to
start it. Hopefully there is a new version available
in the next few days.

Does anybody else have a solution, because the missing system tray isn't solved.

same here, it was there for a month and now awol. it's also missing from right click, so i think this is may not be an OD problem (but still a stardock bug). Not sure, but the only change I made to the system was to upgrade a Realtek audio driver, the looked a bit odd, there were 2 icons in the systray after the install. So I uninstalled and installed the Realtek stuff again, and all is well with the audio but no systray in either objectdoc or right click. If i turn on the taskbar all the icons are there in the systray, too bad i designed a great doc to replace it!

Is the tray notification option in the Stardock Cental Browser checked?

duh! a link to this must be in the startup folder:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Stardock\SDMCP.exe
i think that's been said many times on this board...

I don't find a link to it the startup folder...but mine works.

I just asked because as many times as it's been mentioned, I've noticed quite a few people have deleted SDMCP as unnecessary then want to know why the systray isn't working...
