Challenge: The world's longest poem!
A poet and I know it

As corny as this is I thought it might be interesting to see how long a poem could run-on and on and on. So I'm throwing down the poetic gauntlet!
There is not enough love of literary skills any longer (sadly), but I do enjoy a bit of poetry and prose now and again and it would be nice to see a revival.
There is no theme or subject or length limit...the poem can run off and on course and even rhyme or not (personal taste allowed). It can be sappy, serious, funny, sad etc. but try to somehow tie it in to the last verses so that it kind of flows a bit. Wot say?
Anyone game?
I'll start (but of course):
There was a young girl from Nantucket (J/k)
Seriously,
I dreamt of daisy chains around your head
You angelic thing, you angel you,
But now you're somewhere else instead
So far away, bereft of words unsaid but true
Your halo hovers over my yearning heart
I'm just now learning to slow before I start
Now I can stop to smell the thyme
Now I can reason within my rhyme.
