Dekstop Icons And FireFox Window

Hello, I have my object staying on top of all windows..only problem is it doesn't act like windows taskbar as the windows maximise behind it and not just above it, if you know what i mean, and icons on the desktop hide behind it, any way of stopping this? Thanks.

Have you tried and changed the workspace are in your desktopX-theme. I have to admit that I don't use it, but I would try and play around with this.

Right-click on your DesktopX-icon in the tray > Configure DesktopX > Theme > Workarea.

Maybe you can kind of 'reserve' some working space for your Taskbar?

ummm It has nothing to do with desktop x which i dont have as i deleted it after i thought it was any good. It is to do with objectdock.

If it's Objectdock It sounds like a Tabbed dock. If that's the case right click on the dock (somewhere other than on a dock item) and select "detach from edge" from the menu an move to another location. Or if you no longer wich to keep it then click on "Dock Settings" then "Manage My Docks" then highlight the culprit and "Remove....."

I will try and rephrase, so that its easier to understand my problem

Basically I have icons on my desktop..and the the dock I have at the bottom covers these desktop icons..I have this dock on autohide at the moment, but would like to have it constantly showing and always on top just like the windows taskbar. The problem is the icons on the desktop and the window sizes of programs dont re size themselves like if I was using the windows taskbar. Is there any way I can have object work EXACTLY like windows taskbar?

Not by itself. Using DesktopX, as aufisch mentioned early, you can limit the area that windows can maximize into.

You can fake this quite easily. Make your windows task bar the height of your objectdock with always on top set. Then run ObjectDock and hide the windows task bar. That way windows should maximise correctly.
