I managed it ! It took me one week just to play the game, but I beat maso :D

I'm happy :D

And for my next challenge, I shall beat maso at pure evil, with five incredible pure good alien civs on a tiny/rare map without hitting CTRL-N... well, maybe not :D

Great!

If you plan on doing it again, check out the Masochistic Strategies thread in the GC Strategies forum.

Also, if you feel like empiring, you might want to consider joining the Fellowship, which has quite a few active maso players within it who enjoy discussing the strategy of that level.

People who beat maso are relatively uncommon, so doing it even once is an accomplishment. People who prefer to play maso on a continuing basis are even rarer. Good job! For the record, I cannot handle maso yet, so I have some measure of respect for those who can.

Congratulations General! Even more impressive is the fact that you did it on a gigantic galaxy map. My hat is off to you!!! :HOT:

By the way, the Jedi Repbulic is also a fine home for a masterful player such as yourself. Check out our website at to see more about us: http://www.angelfire.com/theforce/jedi_republic/

Congrats on the win. And may I ask you to consider joining the G.R.O.S.S. empire. Our mission is to Get Rid Of Slimy alienS. We offer much fodder for your cannons.

Why get rid of the aliens ? Much better to have them all chanting your name, encouraging that last planet to flip
;)

Nothing like 8 trillions assorted beings chanting your name to brighten your day :)

"Tac-ti-cus! Tac-ti-cus!"

With your name and choice of alignment, you'd make a great Sith Master in the Jedi Republic.

Great. Beating on tiny rare with all 5 goods is not necessarily the hardest game. There were some discussions on how to beat maso on tiny rare in the start forum. You may want to check it.

Actually that is getting rid of them by conversion. Also acceptable if you read your G.R.O.S.S. manual. After all, our ever popular water parks with free kentucky fried Drengin have proven oh so culturally popular. You do know Drengin tastes like chicken.

Not the hardest ? I haven't a clue how to do it :D

At least with my gigantic game, I was able to hide long enough to build a working economy, even though it was puny compared to the AIs. That meant money for bribes, and being able to research techs the AIs did not have (more bribes, and trades with the minors). On tiny maso so far, I haven't found how to prevent the aliens from showing up with comments like :

"Nice little museum you have here. Looks like the best collection of vintage corvettes in the galaxy. But I hear you have financial troubles, I'm sure you'll be happy to donate it, we have an old Dreadnought that will be quite at home here. We'll even keep the name, what was it, Sol, if you want ?"

And they won't take no for an answer :sniff!:

I think tiny/rare is easiest. The AI doesn't adequately defend its homeworld, and since most AIs only get one world you can sneak in a fleet to invade and destroy them while their military is busy elsewhere.

Well done, Tacticus. :CONGRAT:

I have a selfish reason for wanting to see you to play Pure Evil with Pure Good AIs.

The last time I played that setting, I had a tremedously deflated score which I suspect is a result of a problematic alignment bonus. So I would be very interested to see your score after you win that.

Try tiny abandant masochistic. It's harder than you think. About first 50 turn's a nightmare. You will get pounded by enemy fleets all the time. Computer seems building warships way too faster in maso, tiny, abandant.

General Tacticus if you are interested in joining an empire, Illuminati is always there for you. Since we are still small, we will be more than welcome to have you. It's just a click away. :D

You guys crack me up with that recruiting stuff, you put the Armed Forces guys to shame.
Congrats on the win from one who's never been above normal (and still getting my ass kicked there).
Enjoy

Bakka sneak up on on Berserk74 and stabs him in the back with a stun rod.
Turning to Kelly he explains

"That is how it is done in the Evil Empire. Put in a couple of Chaotic evil and Demonic games and the Dark TerrorStar of Evil could be yours to call home."

:( >:( :(

A General should have his own empire!

Ray, my last game was pure evil against 5 pure good AIs and look at my score! :sniff!:
Of course I had no money at the end, which could have contributed quite a bit. I had killed off (absorbed) everyone else except the Torians. I wonder if THAT had anything to do with it.

Yes, tiny abundant is hard. You can't make a rush to hijack the only planet of a race whse space fleet is made of more ships of a more powerful class.
