Well according to Yahoo, the Candians are now saying it started with a lightning strike at the Niagra Falls power plant (But of course they say it was on the U.S side).

Geography check Ottowa is in Canada?

Pointius I raised 'Icehockey' because it seems to me Americans and Canadians seem to argue about it. Apparently (as is my understanding) Canada 'own' the US in IceHockey . . . .

American teams wish they could compete in hockey. Why else would they be seeking out Eastern Europeans or Russians in such numbers? Us poor Americans just have to face the fact that in some sports we do not have an inherent advantage. But if you were to shift the topic to basketball, I am sure team USA could own the world. :)

Killa: Anyone that was forced to watch Andrew Gaze as it's big superstar in a sport, I'm sure would have the following reaction to that sport :VOMIT:

I don't know. I think that ownership is not as much as possibly it once was. Been a long while since a canadian team won the Stanley Cup.

Besides, The protests of some devoted hockey fans notwithstanding, Hockey is NOT the 4th major sport in the U.S. Even Major League Soccer out draws it on the tele.

Tried to upgrade to Drengin.net yesterday morning, and was unable to get it to work until tonight. Looks like Stardock is getting back online.

i thought it was pretty funny when that cnn reporter who was doing her shoot in times square was saying how important it was for new yorkers to conserve power, while behind her, you can see the huge video billboards and lighted advertisments that nobody bothered turning off. LOL

Now we get to play dueling finger pointing. The utilities will say it is up to taxpayer dollars from Congress to upgrade the grid and Congress will say that the private utilities should mind their lines. In the end, it will be a taxpayer bailout because the politicians will spin it that way to their re-election advantage. And then we have a FERC that is supposed to oversee this whole mess, but has no enforcement power to mandate changes. Curse Enron and the day it and its three Texas partners cornered the energy market in most of the USA.
