what can i do about it

Just wait for it to come back. Other things going on in your life can also be a problem. If there are too many other things to do you just do not have the time to think about skinning.
You will see something sometime and you will get inspired again.

Whilst its useful to understand what is actually missing at the moment - inspiration or drive, I would not simply just wait while you deal with life. Passions like everything else that are core/central must be nurtured, at least a little.

I am in the same boat.. I have a skin i have been trying to get done for about 3-4 months, and have no desire to work on it. I have the graphics almost done, but dont want to code the stupid thing. I HATE coding WMP Skins. And yes i have tried skin studio, and to me its just confusing and complicated, but that may just be me.

I think what happens is we get into something, work hard on it, then when its done, its done, its like giving birth, but to a teenager, you are all busy creating it, then its out there on its own. Then you get someone that slams on it, or no real interest in it (IE comments or downloads), and you feel like "why?" "why did i waste all that time on it?". I have run into that here, and its so hard for me to get back into the "JOY" of creating when you just dont feel like your doing anything that anyone wants, or likes. I try and create things I would like to have/use/see and then pass them onto the world. But its hard to feel like you really made something great, and no one seems to see it but you.

I agree Inspiration and drive are not the same thing, but I also see how they can both be lacking, and hard to get going. If you find your inspiration or drive or both, let me know where you found them.

Right now im trying to get the DRIVE to finish a few things, and see how they are received.

i see i'm not the only one who has/had this problem !!
the biggest problem is finishing a skin adding the details
the basics aren't that hard but when i have to finish it i
just run out of creativity somehow, the ideas are there, all done
in my head but not on the screen...i look at the screen and want to
make a new one, a better one so i start on a new one with no
desire to finish the other one !! i don't have any answers
guess i'll just keep trying !! for now it's really frustrating
i just end up with not goodlooking skins which look only half finished
oh well.....things could always be worse
