BootSkins

OK, I have downloaded bootskins, extracted them after download and try to use the bootskins program to import them to use. The only problem is when I import from the bootskin program I can't see the files I downloaded, I see all of the folders but no images to apply.

Any ideas???

You shouldn't 'extract' them, they are self-extracting. If the file is a zip open the zip and check to see if there is a file inside with the extension .bootskin. If you see that just double-click it. If there's no .bootskin inside the zip, then for some reason the extension was renamed when you downloaded it. Rename the file  xxx.zip to xxx.bootskin, and double-click.

If I don't use Winzip to extract the download then nothing shows up when I try to import into bootskin.

I have renamed the file with a .bootskin extension, then I can see it through the import menu but when I click on it it tells me the the file is either corrupt or a read only.

And what happens when you double-click (not import) the xxx.bootskin file?

download the bootskin, and doubleclick it. is should open inside bootskin. its as simple as that. or if not, open bootskin, and choose the option that links you to bootskin download site and then download the skin, and just choose the option "open in current location" and after downloading, you will have it immediately installed and ready to be used.
