Visual c++ runtime library error

Hello,

I have version Object Desktop 2004 (WB 4.3, Object Edit 1.66.005) installed on my XP Professional machine with Sp2. I keep getting the Visual c++ runtime error everytime I try to open a word document (Error: "This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way").

Office 2003 version. I am able to open the exact same document by logging in as a different user who does not have object desktop environment. I also read in XP-Sp2 support site that there are some potential issues with object dektop and windows XP sp2.

"This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way"

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thx

Un-install Object Edit

The reason they made OfficeXP was for WindowsXP. I had the same problems with Office2002 on WindowsXP. No such problems with OfficeXP and WindowsXP.

Many people seem to resolve the problems with Object Desktop and SP2 by shutting down all the files used by any Object Desktop application before installing SP2. This means turning everything off from Object Desktop. Then, restart and make sure everything stays off from Object Desktop before installing SP2. This is a procedure suggested by most software manufacturers and it is good practice. Surely, SP2 will update system files and windowblinds/Object Desktop might be using certain system files, and prevent them from being updated properly. Did you unload windowblinds and Object edit, before installing SP2? Maybe, you can uninstall SP2, and unload all Object Desktop applications before installing SP2. Did you turn off your firewall and virus scanner too, before installing SP2? Just a suggestion.
