Calling All Skinners

Ok guys...Here''''s the problem...and I posted this once before but have yet to get it resolved. If you click on my nick you will see a screenshot that once again shows a window that should be showing information but is blacked out. I went to recover some files using System Mechanic and when the list was created I couldn''''t see anything other than icons.

So...Is there a certain setting that must be altered for each skin, and if so what exactly is the setting? Is there something that can be done to stop this from happening in future skins? It would be great to get this resolved somehow so that it isn''''t necessary to unload WindowBlinds each time to use tools.

I will take a shot.

My guess is that the prog you are using is being skinned incorrectly.Perhaps the text and mdi background are the same color. The prog might be getting the text properties from the wrong location. Does it happen with all skins? Is it program specific? If yes then I think you can exclude the prog in wb config.

Possible settings to correct it. In ss on the left ..misc/ colors on the right try background mdi window and text normal. Hope it helps.

As NT says, you'll probaly need to exclude System Mechanic in the WB per app settings. I use SM, and don't have this problem, but I don't have the version with the data recovery. SM has it's own 'skin', and most apps that do that will need to be excluded.

Ok...tried the settings under misc/...colors background mdi window text normal...and that didn''t do it.

Koasati...how do you "exclude" an app from window blinds in the per app setting? I went to the per app setting and it had skinstudio.exe listed there. I had never excluded anything before so I have no idea why it''s there.

@ webgizmos

While in Per Application window, click on Add Per Application Setting. You will then be able to browse to the exe of the program you want to exclude or there is a hot spot you can drag to an open window of your app.

Ok...did the per app setting and excluded all System Mechanic apps. I am still getting the blackout effect on the list. Any more ideas?

I had the same problem excluding programs. Maybe a restart will fix it. Eventually the excluded program does become excluded.

Did the restart...so I guess I'll have to wait for eventually.
