Taskbar keeps resizing.

i prefer to have a Taskbar that is two rows tall. i just don't like trying to read the text of the miniature icons used by a full single-row Taskbar, hence my preference of a two-row taskbar.

However, every time i boot the PC, or change from one WindowBlinds skin to another i have to go down, unlock the Taskbar, resize it, and then re-lock it. [i know, you're asking why i lock the Taskbar. If i don't then the bottom row of icons on the Desktop are partially obscured by the Taskbar. If you lock it, the bottow row of icons & text are forced up enough to be read.] It's more of an annoyance than anything else.

The ONLY exception to this is the Dinks series of WindowBlinds skins, those created for version 3 as well as the DX skins for version 4. Any idears?

i vaguely remember having this problem.. i don't have a fix for you.. however you might try leaving it un locked after you resize it, and logging yourself off, then back on. that should save the setting. then re lock it.

also, do you have any other software up that manipulates the teaskbar, such as teakshell or winfx?

i have done that and it still reverts back to a single row. And to answer your second reply i am not using any other software to skin Windows.

I usually run my taskbar two rows high when I've got a lot of windows open and when I apply a new skin 9 times out of 10 I have to resize it as well. I haven't tried this myself, because I test a lot of skins and don't want any useroverides interferring with what I'm testing, but if you go into WindowBlinds Advanced Configuration => User Overrides there are three settings for taskbars "Skin decides taskbar size", "small taskbar size" and "large taskbar size"

As essencay said, there are user overrides for the taskbar size, but a great many skins do not work when using the large taskbar setting. The bar does become larger, but it looks terrible. If it looks ok, though, this setting does seem to stick. If it doesn't look right using this setting, then the best bet is to let the skin decide the size, but my experience has been that using that setting, then manually resizing the taskbar to double height, the bar looks better, but the setting will not stick. So pick your poison.
