Compact Start Menu

I'm using Windows XP and I want to have a compact Start Menu (e.g. no text next to the icons Control Panel, Help and Support, etc). I'm trying to use various Windowblinds skins and some of them don't look right without the compact style and I can't figure it out (see the screenshot of the Start Menu on www.guiolympics for the skin G-Pod).

Smart but lost

I can say for certain that not all skins are designed for a compact start menu, especially some of the more creative/animated one from the guio, but a lot of them did work. I take every skin I download and make the compact start menu using SkinStudio, takes about 2 minutes and if you want to know I can *attempt* to guide you through the few steps I take.

Thanks brncofan7! Actually my questions is not how to make the skin have a compact version but how to make Windows XP use a compact version that is already made. I don't see it as a setting under Start Menu > Properties. I haven't been able to locate it as a WB setting. It's making me crazy.

Thanks!

what build of windowblinds are you using? also, is it the enhanced version or the shareware version? not all builds/versions of wb support compact start menus

Look in the systray open the WB config scroll to the WB you want to load if it has a subskin with a compact start menu there will be a window under "apply this skin now" scroll to the compact start menu version and apply.

Try using the WB config for applying and changing your skins to get used to it, it work well.
