Help me make a decision!!!

Help me make a decision!!!

Hi guys. Need some help out on this.

Looking to buy a notebook (cannot use a Mac) to use at the institute. So I would like your opinions.

The minimum config:

30 GB
256 MB RAM
CD-R/RW/DVD
802.11b wireless connectivity.

I am looking to spend approx $1500 (now remember that this is 65 K in Indian Rupees) + import duty.

I am loooking for something with a good battery life and something that would help me for the design work that I do too (cause I would be using the laptop in the hostel).

BTW, I have been admitted into the MBA program in a very good university.

i second event horizon's.. of course, go for IP's computer choice if you can spend a little more doe

i've got an HP ze2700 something and its a wonderful computer. its got the g wireless, usb2, firewire. use it every day in an apple enviroment.. great desktop replacement

I almost went to the HP 17 inch laptop, but the extra 5 bills for 1.6 inch additiona to the display wouldn't computer.

HP makes a very nice Laptop since they took over Compag who made a very fast complete line of Laptops. The Armada's and Presario's where bang up and HP did not have a good name on the desktop or laptop areas. HP servers did well enough, then they took over Compaq and in short order they really have raised to the top.

ip i ran your emachine past our IT people downstairs. they said "sounds great. just don''t drop it." apparently you won''t get much durability out of that unit so just be careful hehe.

not that i would recommend dropping any other brand, of course

Oh hell, we better make sure to let all the tech know NOT to do the bounce test.

Seems a 10G impact might screw it up

what is the difference between ATI RADEON 345M and ATI Radeon 92100/9600?
Sorry for the bump. :O

Basically, the RADEON 345M (and the IGP series) are the lower level models and the 9200/9600 are the good ones. To be honest it won't really matter much if you're going to be using it for Windows. If you intend on playing games with it, however, go for the 9200/9600s.
