What did I do wrong with IconPackager?

I'm a newbie here, so please be kind.
I just installed Icon Packager and when I click on IconPackager Explorer, no window opens up. All I get is the "box" on the taskbar. I can't close it either. I have to hit Crtl-Alt-Del and I always get the "not responding".

I am using WindowsXP Pro. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled but nothing is different.

Another question: What is the quickest way to "install" packages/themes. I double clicked on a couple and the IP window came up and they were there but didn't stay when I refleshed the list. Do I have to install them one by one using the "install new package" button?

Thanks!
Louise

To install icons from IP highlight the Icon Package you want, then click "Load" then "Apply" I,m not sure about your other problem, I've only been at this a few months.

If it doesn't install directly just from clicking download you may have to transfer the theme to the IP theme folder and once IP is running click on install new package and then install from disk and and open the theme file and then apply changes. Hope this helps...

Under Settings there is an option to set your Packages Directory. Have this point to the folder where you keep your ip files, or conversly, save the ip files in the default folder. Clicking on an iptheme file will bring the package to Icon Packagers attention, but it won't remember it unless it's in the defined folder.

I think this is also the fastest way to "install" packages. Either move all your themes and associated files to the default directory, or define the directory to the folder where you have them saved. Close and restart Icon Packager, and it should automatically see them all.

I don't often use the Icon Explorer option, so can't help ya with that!

Just an additional note, Icon Packager seems to do fine with "nested" folders within the one you set as the Packages Directory. For example, I have my directory set to a folder D:\IconThemes Within this folder are dozens of other folders, each with numerous icons. If there exists inside one of these nested folders an .iptheme file, Icon Packager finds it (I think). So, I have a folder D:\IconThemes\YellowGlass, and inside that folder are the pretty Yellow Glass Icons by APB and an .iptheme file. When I load Icon Packager it has the Yellow Glass Folders them ready for me to look at and s-elect.

I hope that clarified, and not obfuscated my above post!

Thank you all very much! Things are much clearer now. Will be putting everything in one folder and loading them from there.

That Explorer thing is very strange. Will probably send a note off to customer support and see what they have to say.

Thanks again,
Louise

weese, did you ever get a response about IP Explorer being stuck in the task bar? I've got the exact same thing happening.
