Conflicct between Fences and Windows 11?

First of all I think it is really bad that a company won't offer actual ticket support for issues dealing with the products tat they are flogging.

With that being said I have the following issue.

I installed Fences and I totally loved being able to finally organize my desktop in a manner I liked.

ONly one problem.... Windows 11 does not seem to like Fences much because I more or less directly started having issues with wiondiws refusing to update when moving files, copying files, download files or changing names. I had physciall press refresh for the update to be visibile.

I went as far as trying uninstall the app and thenm install it again.

This did not help at all either.

Then I just uninstalled the app and all these issues disappeared.

I was wondering if some others have experienced similar problems?

and

Might there be a solution here?

Cheers

Kalle

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Stardock uses its community forum as the main support platform. This approach offers several advantages:

  1. Open participation: Any user can join the discussion, share experiences, and suggest solutions.

  2. Collective knowledge: Issues are often solved faster because multiple community members may have encountered similar situations.

  3. Direct visibility: Support and Development teams can step in at any time to provide guidance or investigate new issues.

  4. Transparency: Everyone can follow ongoing threads, see what has already been tried, and contribute additional details if needed.

  5. Future reference: Discussions remain available, so other users with similar issues can easily find and benefit from past solutions.

This way, support is not limited to one‑on‑one communication, it becomes a collaborative space where both users and Stardock's staff can work together to resolve problems and improve products.

That said, for your issue, first to make sure Fences was properly install. please try, uninstall Fences, reboot immediately (important), download latest version available in your account product download page: https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products. Install it, reboot immediately again. Retest it and report back.

If the issue still appear, we need more information.

  1. Need to know your Windows 11 full version and OS Build number.
  2. Is the issue appear every time, randomly or after specific steps that can easily be reproduce.
  3. Post a video showing the issue might help us understand it better.

Thanks
