Start11 compatibility on Windows Server 2025

Is Start11 supported on Windows Server 2025? After installing version 2.70 via the administrator account, the original start menu continues persist. I can access the configuration options but there seems to be no way to get the Start11 menu. Is there any workarounds?

Thanks

We've had users run Start11v2 on Windows Server 2025 successfully; I'm not aware of any inherent compatibility issues.  Some things you could check to see if you can isolate an issue here would be:

  • Check the Start11 Service: Open Windows Services (services.msc) and make sure the "Start11" service is running and set to Automatic startup type.

  • Restart Windows Explorer: In the Start11 configuration window, try using the "Restart Windows Explorer" option, or do it manually via Task Manager.  It could be the menu replacement hasn't kicked in until Explorer is restarted with the service running.

  • WebView2 Runtime: Make sure the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime is installed, as Start11 v2 relies on it for certain features. On your server OS it may not be present by default.

Please let us know if these suggestions help.

I gave it another try after installing the latest from Windows Update. It went through successfully this time around. Thanks so much!
