Working on a fenced item hits desktop item behind fence

Windows 10 x64; Fences 6.4.6 (current as of today)

Recently I've been unable to rename / move items such as a shortcut that is within an unrolled fence, if there is an existing unfenced desktop item "behind" it.  My rename or move operation instead works on the hidden desktop item, not on the fenced item.  The only workaround is to drag that desktop item somewhere else (it usually ends up inside the fence) then re-try on the fenced item.  Then drag the desktop item back out of the fence.

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Unfortunately, I can not reproduce your issue on my system. Refer to my short video below.

Moving forward, please try purge and reinstall steps as mention here : [Link]. Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account page. Reboot after the purge. Reinstall and reboot again after the installation. Retest and report back here.
