Trillian Library request

Just wondering... is there going to be one?

I find a couple of references to it on this message board. First one was somewhere in 2001. Last reference was October last year. Even a poll was held, I believe.

I would too, I dont like having to go to the Trillain website for my skins, their interface is annoying. I payed for it and thought that there were more skins available than actually are. Please add a Trillian Pro Section

deviant art has them, and some random download sites. but i think we're all unanimously avoiding deviant art for its.. lack of navigation. and i totaly hear ya on trillian's web site.. can't find a damn thing there.

would definitly like to see what people here can do to trillian.

This request was made before. It is hopeful that a trillian section will be added at some point. I agree that deviantart has them, but their interface completely turns me off to the site, as well as being a slow site to load on dailup. However it seems the main trillian site rarely has new skins which makes me wonder how many people are even making skins for it.
Most of the skins lack any imagination so I'm forced to stick with a skin that is ok, but at least is an improvement over the default.

Has anyone tried making a trillian skin? How hard is it?

I'm working on a Trillian(.74) skin right now. I don't have that much experience in skinning. (made 1 winamp skin).

But the basics all stay the same I guess. You have your images, and with some xml language you put them back together. The xml tags may differ a bit, but the principle stays the same.

I haven't tried to make one yet, but Alexandrie tells me it's not easy to skin at all.
I can't find a skin I truly like. Beacon is ok, except some of the mouse-overs are misaligned, and I can't read the font. I tried to change the font, but had no luck. I was going to try to fix the mouse-overs too, but the format is not vert friendly IMHO, and I decided I'd wait and figure it out later, after the GUIO is over.
If I could only change that 'Hoodge' font, to something I can read, or even increase the size, I could put up with the mouse-overs for now........

I would love to see a Trillian (Pro) library. When I bought the skin suite PixOS, it came with a trillian skin, which I use a LOT. I also use the default skin. I noticed different skins have different features (emoticons, sounds, etc). I agree about Trillian's website...most of the skins are outdated.

This is the Trillian skin I'm working on: http://www.geocities.com/gabrz/copperdeck/copperdeck.html

It's almost finished... so hurry up with implementing the Trillian library

Sweet, I too want a Trillian library.

how about just ping all XML files at once into a tabbed text editor and do a find/replace for all files? just be careful not to click "Replace All At Once" as you have to go through this step by step (you have to change the font size as well).

free tabbed text editors:
NoteTab Light (easy to use) http://www.notetab.com/
SciTE (one of my personal favs, configured with text files, so for power users only) http://www.scintilla.org/SciTE.html

I am working on my own Trillian skin because I haven’t found any good yet. I believe if wincustomize puts a section for them you will be amazed at the response, there will be a lot of Trillian skins going up, there are a lot of people out there skinning it, just none of them are posting it because all the sites suck that have Trillian skins. However this is just one mans option.

I just wish that windowblinds could export a custom trillian skin to match the overall look.
Well if not windowblinds, then certainly SkinStudio, which incidentily supports Windows Media Player skin creation. However I don't believe Trillian can be supported in this way, its too difficult I imagine. I haven't tried the WMP conversion in SkinStudio, but I imagine its relatively speaking a boring skin.

I agree that Trillians skins overall don't seem to have much imagination for the ones I have seen. There have been polls here about having a section, however the winner of the last poll was Rainlender and that section has still not appeared.

I don't remeber Rainy being the winner

Rainlendar wasn't even in the last poll....

If you had to pick a section that we're missing here, which one would it be?

Boot Screens  409
Trillian skins    236
Aston shell     29
Hoverdesk      67
Msstyles        156
Other            173

I find it interesting that the last poll specifically about Rainy, generated 19 total votes.

The current poll shows Rainlendar with a significant lead over Samurize. So far there is 299 votes.
