Multiplicity 4.2 Beta Feedback

With the Multiplicity 4.2 beta release, we are creating this thread so that users can report any observed issues.

Obtaining Object Desktop Insider Builds

Object Desktop Manager

Object Desktop members can get beta and Insider builds from within Object Desktop Manager with 'Enable Object Desktop Insider builds' enabled:

Or via their download page in the ‘Object Desktop Insider’ section

Obtaining Beta Releases

Stardock.com

If a beta was released, Object Desktop Members would see it in the ‘Object Desktop’ section.

Individual purchases would see it on their registration of the product under their download page.

Steam

  • Right-click the Product in Steam

  • Properties

  • Betas

  • Select the beta branch at the top right (there is no password)

Reporting an issue

Please include the following for anything found:

  • Exact Windows version \ build (winver.exe)

  • Detailed steps to recreate the issue seen

  • Screenshots and videos are very helpful.  Videos can be uploaded to a cloud drive service (GoogleDrive, DropBox, OneDrive, YouTube), with a shared link included in your post.  Images can be copied and pasted directly into a post.

  • If there are specific apps that the app does not work (well) with, please note what apps and their exact versions.  If any app is not common, a link to a trial version would be appreciated.

Thank you for your interest and any time you put into making Multiplicity 4 a better product.

Hi michael136,

Thank you for your report.

I cannot get the Automatic unlocking of this computer working (Was working previously on version 4.0.x)

Locking the master does lock the others fine.

I can reproduce this and have it logged.

Just to follow up on the copy/paste issue. I too have been this issue since using Multiplicity. I cannot work out why it fails "sometimes", or why it works reliably between certain PCs but not others. I've triple checked the firewall rules.

About the firewall rules, it seems the installer keeps on adding rules each update. I've got 5-8 copies of duplicate rules in my firewall. Is there a way to clean those up nicely? I can't find the MPPortFix.bat you mentioned earlier.

Hello all,

We've now updated the Multiplicity 4 beta to version 4.2.0.2.

The update includes:

Changes

  • Fix for allowing primary to automatically unlock secondary computers with password (will need to resave if older version used)
  • Adds in new SAS files

Thank you as always for your feedback and support.

Best regards,
