Start11 taskbar thumbnail previews

unable to disable taskbar thumbnail previews

Hello,

I set up buttons to never combine, set position to taskbar on the right. When I go with mouse over applications, it always shows thumbnail previews of the opened windows even though these windows have separate icons. In the setup of never combine it's very undesirable behaviour.

Please add option to disable taskbar thumbnail previews.

Thank you, Stefan

Dear Basj,

thank you very much for your response and for your proactivity. This issue is something which is quite bothering me. Every time I want to select application I have to be fast enough until I see the text :D

In Windows 11 there is also setting for this. But when I change it, nothing happens, thumbnails are still showing:

You can try disabling related visual effects, though this is less reliable on Windows 11:

  1. Open System PropertiesAdvancedPerformance Settings.
  2. In Visual Effects, uncheck:
    • Save taskbar thumbnail previews
    • Show thumbnails instead of icons
  3. Apply and restart

Cheers, Stefan
