Prediction: Object Dock Library gets better than the wallpaper library

Just thought I would say that. I find the number of items in some libraries fascinating for some reason.

I have to agree and disagree with you on this one Joe.
I agree that the quality on the work submitted to the wallpaper library has decline considerably, as the OD library has gotten a 'boom' on submission, yet for the most part is has been flooded with many unusable icons and lots of 'cut & paste' images, not to mention the fact that instead of uploading a icon pack people prefer to upload a dozen of individual images that only serve to push down previous work.
I guess it's all in the way that you look at it.

I find the ObjectDock library a very valuable resource. If I'm looking for an icon or some other specific image, I can go there and voila, it's there.

Now here's the problem with both of those libraries:

Wallpapers:

Because a decision was made a while back to lower the minimum accepted quality level, more walls were accepted, most of which were essentially unusable. There have been more Vue scenes uploaded than I've ever seen before, thanks mainly in part to the change in moderation.

OD:

Like A_67 said, many of the icons that are uploaded are just cut-and-paste images with "jaggies", etc. These are unusable. I'm not really sure why icons such as video game boxes and cut-and-paste logos are accepted at all, bu the majority of recent submissions have been pretty low-calibur stuff. That being said, we can't all be Jairo or Farid, tho ( ), so the submissions won't always be top notch like the work of the two aforementioned members.

The Main Point:

Will OD ever reach the popularity/size of the Wall library? Definately not at this rate. Until moderation returns to normal in the wall section, the walls will reach 10,000 before OD even hits 5,000. But if we do decide to raise the moderation on the Wall library, we should also raise moderation on the OD library as well.

Extract the backrounds to the Backgrounds folder in the ObjectDock directory, open the configuration dialog, and choose from the "Background" down list on the Appearance tab...

Joe.... I'm wondering what you mean by "better than"...

At least the files in the OD library aren't as big as those in the wallpaper library...

That is one thing that happens from time to time, because people upload individual icons in OD, other new items can be pushed down too fast. I think there should be a limit of 2 uploads a day for that section. It would help with others getting pushed out perhaps and might encourage more to put their OD icons into a pack. I would think most unless its a unique program, most would want a pack.

Good idea. Is that per person, or total?

/me is picturing dozens of "Why is my OD icon STILL waiting for moderation?!!" threads on the message boards...
