Fences' Preferences experienced an error, please try again

Continually popping up even after restart. Cannot uninstall, same error.

Per the title,

Currently trying to run an Object Desktop trial (used to use fences a lot, have a licence for v3 but does not seem to work on v6).

Installed fences 6, then uninstalled and installed object desktop instead - reinstalled fences through object decktop. Now i continually get an error popup for fences. Specifically System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'Stardock.ApplicationServices, Version=1.10.4.128 .....

I am unable to uninstall Fences (just says its in use, and i cannot find a task to end).

 

Windows 11 24H2 (OS Build 26100.47770)

 

Unfortunately this is making my PC mostly unusable given that closing the error just causes it to re-appear.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. To remove Fences completely, you can use the purge part of this steps: https://support.stardock.com/space/SHC/1332477959/Fences+purging+and+re-installing. Remember to restart the system as soon as the uninstall finish.
