Start11

The taskbar stays at the bottom of the screen

Hello Madam or Sir,

I am currently trying out your program Start11, version 2.53.
Its main purpose for me is to place the taskbar at the top of the screen.
I am encountering a “difficulty.”

Sometimes, when starting Windows 11 Home, version 10.0.26100 build 26100, the taskbar appears at the bottom of the screen and stays there. I have to restart the Explorer for it to move to the top.

What should I do to avoid this manual step and have the taskbar appear at the top of the screen automatically when Windows starts?

Best regards,
André Blanquer

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, the Start11 taskbar should stay at the top once you set it to be there. Need to know few more information on your system.

  1. Windows 11 full version and OS Build number. Please use Winver.exe to get these numbers
  2. Do you have any other application or modification done on your system which also control or modified how your taskbar or Windows explorer work. Application such as Display fusion, StartAllBack, WindowPatchers, etc.

Thank you,
Basj,

Hello,
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.
My Windows version is 24H2 Build 26.100.4946.
I used Taskbar11 Portable, but since the latest Windows updates didn’t seem to agree with it…
Of course, it’s not running—I checked in Task Manager.
No other similar application is running.
Thank you for your assistance.

Did you uninstall Taskbar11? Sometimes, the application has done some changes in the system, which need to be undone. Remember to reboot the system after the uninstall.

Thank you,

Taskbar is a portable application, so there’s no uninstallation.
Since I didn’t have to restart it every time Windows opened, I assume it had written what it needed, where it needed, in order to run after Windows launched.
With Everything, I searched for c:\*taskbar*.exe – All: nothing detected.
A search with c:\*taskbar* – All: returns four pages of items, none apparently related to a taskbar manager… except of course for Stardock\Start11.
In Settings > Apps > Startup: neither Stardock nor Start11.
As for the Registry, I’m not very skilled (to put it mildly)!
I looked in Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE: no Stardock, no Start11.
To go further, please remote-control me.
