Issue with Stardock Fences

Hello,

I gave a try to Stardock Fences 6.

I created a couples of fences : Apps, Code, Games and Videos where I stored some files inside. 

I can start executables, watch videos, pictures etc. but if I try to move or copy them outside their fences I'm getting an error (from Windows) saying that the file isn't found. 

How could I copy files inside fences to another directory / drive ?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know more.

  1. You on Windows 10 or 11? Also, need Windows full version and OS build numbers. Use Winver.exe
  2. Fences full version number install.
  3. The issue appear on Normal Fences or Folder Portal Fences?
  4. How did you move or copy them outsides? Post A video showing us how you did it might give us hint on the issue.

I'm on Windows 11 Pro, 24H2 OS Build 26100.4652. Also, I'm on local user account, if that matters.  

I made normal Fences but I made some sub directories. 

For instance : 

TV

  1. Videos
    1. Comedy
    2. Drama
    3. Fantasy
    4. Etc.
  2. Games
    1. Windows
    2. Emulators
    3. Etc.
  3. Software
    1. Code
    2. Media
    3. Internet  

Additional note : if I try to interact with the Fences, explorer.exe hangs (I will see a wait cursor) when hovering the desktop. 

Let me know if I can provide further details, including more "technical" ones.

Please try purge and reinstall steps as mention here : [Link]. Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account page. Reboot after the purge. Reinstall and reboot again after the installation. Retest and report back here.
