Cant get StartMenu translucency in Start11 like in the older Start10

In Win10, no matter what I do in Start11 settings the start menu always has the hard acrylic blue and I can't get the more aero-like blur as in Start10-called Normal blur. The only way to do this is by disabling Transparency in Windows Settings>Personalization>color.

Is this a problem with my OS? or is "Normal Blur" no longer a feature in Start11?

Here is the best I can do in Start11 (with windows transparency on) with Menu Background transparency level to 11% and no Mica:

hard blur

Here is what it then looks like when I turn Windows transparency off:

soft blur

Just wanting to be able to get the softer blur without disabling Windows Transparency. In Start10 I can get this blur, but the transparency can only be lowered to 62%.

Win 10 Pro build 19044 thanks

I believe the older style blur has been removed from later versions of Windows so Start11 moved onto using acrylic to ensure consistency.

Plus the taskbar also uses acrylic so it wouldn't have blended in well.

That said, as you are on Windows 10 you do have options.

Add the following registry key : HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Stardock\Start8\Start8.ini\Start8

And add a string value called "AcrylicBlurAllowed11" and give it a value of 0.

You may or may not need to sign out at that point.

Note on Windows 11 this will remove ALL blur.

Thanks. I'll give it a try when I reinstall fresh windows on my test machine.

Is it possible to add some reg edit to make Start10 have a custom transparency to bypass the low 62% limit?

Cheers
