Skinnable Virus Scanner!!!!

Don't know how many of you know this. But I found a virus scanner that you can skin. It's called AVAST! and you can get it at www.avast.com It's free, and works great! Just thought I'd pass that on. I'd do a news submit, but I'm a terrible writer as you can probably see. So someone else can do that if they wish.

I think I'll check this out....... although I'm quite pleased with PC-Cillin, it looks interesting. (Seems to be free form skinning) :)

Word is the next XP service pack is gonna have a scanner built in. Might be worth waiting to buy a new one and see how it works out. Can't get my head around the concept of running two anti-virus at once, I figure there's gonna be "conflicts" with 3rd party ones, (planned or unplanned). Whataya bet MS makes it a bizitch to turn off?

If they do that, aren't they courting danger of being sued for violation of anti-trust laws? Isn't that what got them, and our dear friend Bill, sued in the past? Deja vu all over again.... >

XP SP2 will not have an AV scanner. It has a monitor that will detect if you have an AV installed and running. More info: http://www.betanews.com/article.php3?sid=1077727792

Even though Symantec is listed on MS's antivirus partner list, SP2 RC1 will not detect Symantec AV Corporate Edition.

BTW, SAVCE skins just fine for me.
