Issue with Tab Rearranging

Hi everyone,

I’m having trouble with some Tabs on my desktop that don’t retain their positions after restarting my computer. They end up overlapping and out of order. Is there anything I should check or do to prevent this?

Thanks for your help! <3

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Never see this issue reported before. Need to know more on your system.

  1. Windows 10 or 11? Also need its full version and OS build number. Please use Winver.exe to get these numbers.
  2. Fences full version numbers.
  3. Post some screenshots or share a video so we can see the issue and understand it better.

Thank you,

Hi Espanza thanks for letting us know. This is a new one, so we'd like to look a little closer to see what we can do. Can you try this?

First, enable advanced debug logging

(1) Go to About pane

(2) Click Troubleshooting, then "Enable advanced logging"

(3) Log off/on or reboot

Next, capture it in the act, and take snapshots along the way

(1) Go to the Layout tab

(2) Click "Save / Restore a backup"

(3) Click "Save backup", and save a backup

(4) Modify the tab order, and click "Save Backup" again after waiting a few seconds after reordering

Then, reboot or log off/on to reproduce the issue.

Last, use the "Create error report package for technical support" menu item under About→Troubleshooting to send us the logs, and let us know you did so.

Thorough steps, but hopefully the problem shows up and gives us next steps. Thank you!
