Unable to activate Fence 6. Error code: -212

Fence 6. Error code: -212

I purchased and installed Fences 6.
I had ver 3.0 prior. Once 6.0 exe. was installed, I got "Unable to activate Fence 6. Please try again or contact support (Error code:-212)
I tried to reinstall several times with same error. 
I followed the post comment to delete the old Fence folder and reinstall. No luck.
I completely uninstalled Fences and ran CCleaner to clean out my registry. Then tried to reinstall. No luck.
I tried activating a 30-day trial to see if I could enter the product key from the settings
I can not access the settings of Fences since it is not activated. It just goes back to the activation screen.

Can someone please assist me with getting past the activation screen so that I can use the product.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, did you use correct activation key? I believe when you purchase a new version of a product, you will get a new activation key for it.

Thank you DrJBHL. I deactivated older product versions on the Stardock product page and activate the new product for the PC I want it on. I am still getting the same error. @DrJBHL

I have tried activation through all three options from the app. I have deleted the Fences folder for C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock
I have reinstalled 5 times. I have activated on the Stardock portal for the computer I am using the product.

This is frustrating as the reminder to register keeps popping up and I can't configure or even use Fences. Please help.

Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time. A "Run" dialog box will pop up, please paste the path below into the "Open" field and press OK:

%ProgramData%\Stardock\

That's C:\ProgramData\Stardock not C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock

In the folder that pops up, you should see a folder named Fences. Please delete this folder and all of its contents.

After you have deleted that folder, please attempt to activate it once again and it should succeed without any errors.

Yes, I should have mentioned that.  I have done that three times.

No luck with %ProgramData%\Stardock\

That's why I tried the C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock

 

Any other ideas?
