No transparency for PNGs when used as textures

I have a number of PNG files which have transparent areas. When I use them in Start11 (latest 2.51) I just get black in the transparent areas when I should be able to see the menu background through the transparent areas.

This makes my menus with these images look awful; I can improve it slightly by increasing the transparency of the texture more but that is not the point of this app - it is to make my menu look how I want it to look!

PNG transparency is nothing new, please fix it!

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, I don't think Start11 has an option to have extra image as an overlay image. If you set via the custom menu background. It will be the menu background. It will totally replace anything else.

Thank you,

I think you are missing the point.

I have an image for the menu background - that is the "overall" background.

I some of the groups on the menu I put a background texture which is a PNG file which has some transparent sections (for example something like a motorbike with the background removed and made transparent).

I would expect to see the menu background through the menu group texture where that texture is transparent.

Maybe we are looking at different setting, from what I see there is an option to use menu background, it is not texture. I don't see a texture/overlay option. If there is please post a screenshot showing where this option you're referring to.

Thank you,
