Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.22631.4751]
Browser is Chrome. After installing trial version of Multiplicity 4 ("Multiplicity4-setup_sd.exe") and rebooting, access to Google search engine, except thru the address bar, disappeared. All that is left is a small window that says "Search the web," but typing into it does nothing. Also gone are all the frequently used icons and links, such as Amazon and Google Maps. I use Google Maps several times a month, and Google Search several times a day. These tools are gifts from God and indispensable. I can't describe how much they have helped me over the years. There is nothing that compares to them along any dimension. The same catastrophic behavior occurred when I installed an upgraded Start11 to get access to its toolbar functionality. I was days returning to a workable computer, and weeks before Start11 was fully functional. Now, of course, it works and is quite helpful. Microsoft exhibits this same behavior (sells wine before its time), and the level of hate for that company in the computer science community is almost palpable. Stardock is not making any friends this way.
I saw almost this exact behavior after McAfee installed an upgrade and substituted its "Secure Browser" for Chrome. I believe Stardock may have tried to make Edge the default browser since I followed the exact instructions to make the Chrome the default browser and can find no entries whatsoever to reset the default browser.
For future reference, is there any documentation on how to set up Multiplicity?
Thank you in advance for any help you may care to provide in fixing this issue.
