Audio Cleaning S/W

Anybody have any good suggestions for an idiot-proof audio cleaning software? I've got a bunch of old time radio programs as mp3's and some are pretty scratchy/hissy/poppy.

Hi -

Magix Music Cleaning Lab or Steinberg's Clean!, which has been acquired by Pinnacle.

I've used Magix extensively for the last several years and have copied no less than 1100 cassettes using it. Fast and does a great job.

However, if you are looking at cleaning up OTR, nothing works automatically: you will need to spend quite a bit of time removing artifacts of the recording process by hand.

Best of luck

John

Audacity is free and is able to use 3rd party plugins.

Has some noise filtering as standard, but more advanced functions maybe able to be accomplished with plugins.

Yes, very nice program. Takes a little trial and error, but it will do the trick
