Slowly not working more AND MORE

Multiplicity work great for a day after install but that changed. First copy / paste quit working.

Then loss of connection on occasion. Now loss of connection every 6 minutes or so.

Any Ideas as to a fix..mainly the copy paste...I really need that feature between PCs

  1. Windows full version and OS Build number. Please use Winver.exe.
  2. Multiplicity 4 or Pro? And, need its full version number.

If at all possible, testing with a wired connection is best.  Also, if you are using any VPN connections at the time, please disable them for tests.

'Worked great for a day' but not after means something changed, can you at all help us with what that could be?

-Windows update
-Network changes
-VPN use
-Are both versions of MP4 the exact same (4.0.0.4 for MultiplicityConfig.exe)
-Seamless or KVM connections, do they both show the same issues?

Nothing changed.

I am a home user..retired.

I installed Wednesday night...everything looked to be working...cut/paste..drag/drop..etc

Thursday I ran it all day...no issues.

Friday I started getting connection time outs very occasionally. The system re connected quickly. Then I noticed the cut/paste attempt would freeze the software. Drag and drop would put the software in a loop where the the the file was dragged the transfer box would open and the progress bar would get to aprox. 30% then the box blinks and the progress bar restarts from 0...until 30%.

Now the connections drops are frequent but not long lasting..I can deal with that. I would like to get the C/P working.

I sometimes use Express VPN on one computer but I it has not made a difference that I can tell. Tried it with and with out..no difference.

No windows update or any updates.

no network changes.

I believe both versions are the same but "about"  just lists version 4.

Was thinking of a re install as first step..?  with or with purge?

I am using seamless and now it is getting tougher to move to the secondary screen..it was effortless now

it feels like I have to really push or have a lot of velocity.

Is it possible you have enabled the setting for only switching if the mouse is moving fast?

Also is this both from primary to secondary and secondary to primary?

One other possibility if it is primary to secondary only is the connection in the background has been lost.  If so it cannot connect until it reconnects.  This would suggest a possible network level issue given the other problems.

Uninstall, reboot, reinstall should be sufficient. You can use the 'burn it with fire' purge if you like, however.

I uninstalled and re-installed and the issues remained.

I repeated with the purge batch file re-installed al it is all working well...three days and cut/paste & drop/drag

working. Just a few secondary disconnects but that are rapidly re connected.

Same issue, multiple disconnects, all day long.  Installed end of December and worked well for a week.  Past 2 weeks very unreliable and sluggish on the 2nd computer.

Primary Computer: Windows 11, 24H2 (OS Build 26100.2894) - Personal

I'm back to try it again, Synergy just wasn't performing the way I want.  

I noticed on my primary PC the Realtek built-in wifi was also disconnecting.  I disabled that and added an external wifi antenna/card.

Will report back.
