Shift + Click on explorer doesn't open a new window

Hi!

When the improved task bar is active, clicking on the pinned task bar icon for file explorer on the main monitor doesn't open a new file explorer window (the default behavior), it takes you to other open instance of the app wether it's on another monitor or even a another virtual desktop.

Shift + click results in the same behavior; when enhanced task bar is disabled this works normally

I have version 2.11. Thanks!

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. I believe this is known issue for taskbar on top area and was resolved recently. Please try Start11 v2.49 Beta as mentioned here: https://forums.stardock.com/533419. Please download, install, reboot, retest and report back.

Thank you.

Thanks! If I install beta to try it and tell you if the problem is solved, can I then easily roll back to release version?

Hello,
To roll back, you just need to uninstall the beta, reboot, install the release version, reboot.

Thank you.

Hi!

I installed the beta and the issue is not resolved, I'm adding a video; I have 3 monitors if that helps, the latest beta and Windows 11 24H2 26100.2605

video

Aditionally, after installing the beta, I get centered icons and start icon on only my two most right monitors, the first one (it's also seen in the video), doesn´t have a start menu icon at all.

Thanks! Hope this helps.

P.S.: would love an option to have the task bar icons (next to the date and time) available in all monitors.

Just to confirm, if you on single monitor with Enhance taskbar turn on, you can open New Window explorer when you use the shift click on pinned taskbar button yes?

Hi. Just tried it, not even with one monitor connected i can shift click. And about the taskbar icon, it only shows on two monitors, some times the missing monitor is one, sometimes the other, but theres is always one that doesn't show it. I will gladly send files or give remote access ih this helps you. Thanks.

That is strange, I can not reproduce your issue on my Single monitor system. Refer my short video below.

Please try, uninstall Start11, reboot immediately (important), download latest version available in your account product download page: https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products. Install it, reboot immediately again. Retest it and report back.

Hi. Did as instructed and installed the latest beta available and still the same problem. Should I try uninstalling also removing the config? Thanks.

It might be conflict issue. Do you have any other software that also change something in your taskbar and Explorer. Such as Displayfusion, StartAllBack, ExplorerPatcher or anything that is similar in action/function etc.

Hi. None at all, I had StartAllBack but completely wiped it with Revo Uninstaller when I bought Start11; so only Groupy, Fences 5 and Start11. When I disable improved taskbar this does not happen.

Hi! Just wanted to report: after today's Windows update (kb5050009), this problem was solved, so I guess it was a Windows problem with the update before this one. But anyway, working fine now. Thanks!

We made a change in 2.49 beta for this if you also installed that.

No, I hadn't installed the beta at that moment, I just installed it now; it was right after my computer restarted from the latest Windows update. Thanks very much!
