Multiplicity presses the Alt key when switching control

I am using KM with Multiplicity 3.6 build 00105 on two Windows 10 machines (22H2). I am seeing an odd behavior that Multiplicity would press the Alt key on the primary machine when switching control. The repro steps are as follows:

1. Press and hold any key on the primary machine. Leave this key held down. (Example: 3).

2. Switch control to the secondary machine. Leave the 3 key held down.

3. Switch control to the primary machine. The Alt key is now pressed down.

This can be seen with the Windows On-Screen Keyboard on the primary machine. After performing the above steps, the OSK would show the Alt key as pressed down.

Is this intentional?

No, that is not intentional.

If you are finding this by accident, meaning you are using the Primary, have a key pressed, and inadvertently switching to the Secondary while near a Primary monitor edge, you may consider using this option to prevent inadvertent switching:

I always turn on "Always lock seamless switching" and use hotkeys to switch between primary and secondary.

This issue happens when crossing the monitor edge or using a hotkey to switch. I play games on both machines, so I'm constantly pressing all sorts of buttons while switching between primary and secondary. I hit this issue quite a bit.

Does this happen to be a case of Multi-boxing, perhaps with Everquest?  Perhaps also employing other keyboard \ macro apps for the task?

The game is World of Warcraft usually, and I don't use any macro software. But, this is not specific to any game. I can reproduce this with Notepad.

Can you reproduce it with the trial of MP4 (you would install on both PCs, of course)?

From what I know, there is nothing new to report on this one.

Can confirm, I also run into this one.

This should be addressed in the next MP4 update.

Thanks for letting us know.

You can stop MP from syncing keys on switch by adding the following registry key too :

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Stardock\Multiplicity2\Seamless\Seamless

KeyReset = 1 (type REG_SZ)

Can you clarify if the regkey works in the current version (4.01) or the next update? And the "Seamless" appears twice, correct?

The regkey works in MP3 and 4.  However be aware it may cause non ideal results in certain situations especially when using hotkeys.

The next MP update should have a fix that would not need you to set this.
