Two pinned groups on Start menu?

I don't understand why show two separate "pinned" groups on my Start11v2 start menu.

What is the purpose of the separate grouping(s)?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. I believe one is from your Windows Start panel pinned item and the second one is for Start11 pinned item. But, you can turn off the Windows Start panel sync pinned item option. Refer to screenshot below. And, move those pinned items into one group and delete off that empty group.
