Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know more on your system.

  1. Windows 10/11 full version and OS Build number. Please use Winver.exe.
  2. Fences full version number.

Thank you.

Please install the latest Fences 5.87 Beta as mention here: https://forums.stardock.com/532684. Remember to reboot after Fences 5.87 Beta install. Test it and report back.

unfortunately, there is a new problem now, i can restart the computer fine but can't restore backups, even when i delete them and create new layout, it will revert to a deleted layout.

"\\AppData\Roaming\Stardock\Fences\Backups"
xml files keep getting overwritten when i restore backups

Please post your layout auto-adjustment setting. Something like screenshot below.

Please try this steps: Apply First-use backup or Pre-install backup as shown in my screenshot below., this should reset your fences layout. After that is done, save a new layout manually and rename it. Test if the layout revert back to the old deleted layout. Report back.

Hi flowermoron, can you try sending us a copy of your debug log? Hard to know, but there might be some hints in there.

1) Enable advanced debug logging from the Troubleshooting menu in About

2) Reboot

3) Recreate the problem several times, to ensure the problem is captured. Change resolutions, restore backups, etc, do whatever causes the problem a couple times over.

4) Use "Create an error report package" to get the report to us.

Thank you for your help!

Understood. Yes the issues are rare and when we diagnose with individuals we’re often able to resolve (it’s often machine specific). Hopefully you get a chance to reinstall a some point, and if so, feel free to send us a log.

Had you purchased or were you on the trial?
