My trial will end in 6 days and no fix for Unknown Protocol Error (3)

Seamless Display

Hello,

I already created another post last month with no fix for the Unknown Protocol Error (3) in Seamless Display.

Both computers has fresh new windows installation. Both with the Firewall turned off.

I updated to BETA 3 today, and still doesn't work...
Already try to uninstall and reinstall on Primary and Secondary.

I tried to invert Primary and Secondary and worked (but doesn't work this way for me, as the secondary is a laptop, the primary is a desktop), so I'm sure it's not a network issue. What else I can do to try to make this work? Where can I find detailed logs?

Hello, any updates on this?

I already bought the Multiplicity Pro because I didn't want to miss the sale. Still doesn't work. Same issue. 😥

Is the Secondary an ARM device?  If so, it was noted in Beta 2 but not listed in 'known issues' for beta 3 (but now is):

Sorry for the confusion.

Windows what..? What version are each (winver.exe)?

What is the exact version of MP4 that's installed on each PC (About Tab)

If they are not both Beta 3, update from your account page:

https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products

If that does not resolve it, post a pic of the error.

I have a similar problem on MP4 Pro Trial version 4 Beta 3 Pro.  I can connect from my main pc (primary) --> laptop (secondary) fine.  but every time that i open the KVM pc it would fail on connect protocol error 3.  however, if i reverse the roles of the main pc and laptop, where laptop is primary and main pc is secondary, it works great.   but this is not my use case; i need the PC as the primary and laptop as secondary.

wanting to purchase a license for pro version, but i'd rather wait until a patch is pushed out to the general users.

any help from the developer would be wonderful

laptop: windows 11 version 23H2

PC: windows 11 version 22H2

MP4 on both machines: MP4 Pro Trial version 4 Beta 3 Pro

Same question to the OP, are either ARM PCs?

I figured out the problem.  it is firewall settings for port #.  if i disabled firewalls settings for domain, private, and public, it works fine.  on another note, KVM mode is basic in terms of display.  i cannot resize the secondary pc to any resolution from the primary.  for reference, VmWare can resize to any resolutions.  if MP4 could resize to any resolutions on the primary for KVM mode, MP4 would be the perfect soft KVM; literally would make KVM hardware obsolete.

Hi Guys,

I was having issues with seamless display (I upgraded to 4 Pro for this reason) and was having no success so I turned off firewall on both PC's (Windows 11) and it works which is great. So my question is what ports do I need to enable for it in my firewall settings?
