Dashboard on Windows tablet

I would like to implement the following project.

Am I barking up the right tree?

Anyone see any 'got yas' before I embark on this latest of my Quixotes?

Purpose

Allow the use of a small Win11 tablet with touchscreen as a "Dashboard" for a desktop system. An array of buttons will be displayed on the tablet, and keyboard macros invoked on the desktop

Hardware

Windows 11 Pro desktop PC - "System"

                Configured with extended display

Windows 11 Pro tablet - "HID"

                Keyboard

                Mouse

                Touchscreen

Note: Screen resolutions will not be identical

Display extension must be routed to HID

Network

        WiFi

Available Software

        Multiplicity

        AutoHotKeys

        Remote Desktop (?)

Function

Cursor will be captive on System display*

Normal mouse and keyboard events on HID are passed to System

HID will display a "virtual keyboard" generated by AutoHotKeys and located on extended space

HID touch events will be serviced by AutoHotKeys on System

*optional but probably nice: System cannot enter entended display space. When cursor reaches screen edge, it stops.
