Joseph, I have most of those programs, except for Fences, and I do not have the same issue.  It is possible that you might have a faulty or bad installation of one of those programs, OR a software conflict with another app that doesn't work very well with Stardock software. If I had to take a guess, the villian might very well be a faulty or defective Fences installation. A purge and reinstall may very well be the answer. Here's a link to that info:

I am also wondering if this glitch is indicative of problems with a possible faulty windows update, or issues with the hard drive. You might want to do a scan of the hard drive to see if there are errors, and if so, there is a way that Windows can fix and get rid of those errors.  Chkdsk is a utility that Windows uses to scan and fix problems with your hard drive, including file system errors and bad sectors.

Report back, and if you are still having issues, I am sure that someone here will try their best to help resolve and fix your problem. 

That's very strange and unusual. Seems extremely unlikely that all of those machines would be infected by some possible virus causing that issue. The only scenario that might make sense is if all the machines were old and having bad ram and failing hard drives, but I don't think that's the case here. Something's going on and I don't know what it is. And that's frustrating! 

Perhaps a change in the power settings? Perhaps try disabling sleep mode? Perhaps when the problem happens, shut the PC down and just reboot? Just a few ideas off the top of my head. Or perhaps the answer could simply be doing a system restore to a previous restore point? Have you thought of trying that last option? In the past, I have used system restore in order to take my PC back in time to a period when the problem was not happening. The only thing is you have written that you have dealt with this probem for at least several years now. Still, tinkering with the power settings and disabling sleep mode might help. Maybe. Use WINVER in a search mode and let us know what version of Windows you are using, such as Windows 10, or Windows 11. Thanks!
